Devil’s Hopyard has a lot to offer. If you park in the parking lot on Foxtown Rd, you walk right across the street and you will see the main waterfall, Chapman Falls. It’s a beautiful waterfall that is part of the eight-mile river. Devil’s Hopyard also offers camping from mid-April until the end of December. My favorite trail is the orange trail that loops you around to see Devil’s Den. It’s a nice nook in the mountain clearly labeled “Devil’s oven” on the rocks. Also, if you hike the full loop of orange you get some nice views on the far side.
With all the picnic tables and camping sites, this park does get crowded so keep your dog on a leash. All the trails are pretty easy so it’s a good family hike and nothing too difficult. I do recommend Devil’s Hopyard to dogs of all skill levels as none of the trails have much elevation to them.
*Note – no dogs are allowed on the campground.
