Wildcat Mountain, D Peak

Wildcat Ridge Trail Map

Wildcat Mountain, D peak – White Mountains, NH

Elevation: 4,070 feet

Wildcat D peak was a tough climb up. We parked at the Glen Ellis Falls parking lot around 10am. After crossing over a rather wide river crossing you quickly arrive at the Wildcat Ridge Trail. Almost immediately you begin your ascent up to WildCat D peak. About a mile in you start to get really nice views looking back over Pinkham Notch. The only bad part is the Ski Lift does run during the summer so there were lots of people at the summit who didn’t hike up making it pretty crowded.

Wildcat Ridge is a very dog-friendly hike. There was one section climbing up that gets a bit steep and I could see older dogs or dogs with less experience struggling in the spot a bit but overall I think any dog who has hiked in the whites before will be able to handle the Wildcat Ridge Trail up to the summit.
