Case Mountain is a really fun hike for all levels of experience! I like to park in the Spring Street parking lot because it offers a great view of the waterfall at the start and it leads you right into the “Carriage path” or the white trail. The white trail blaze is the main path and it goes around the entire mountain. It is mostly gravel footing and wide enough for a fun family or group hike. It’s also very well marked and easy to follow.
The summit of Case Mountain offers a fantastic view of the Hartford skyline. If you’re looking for a more difficult trail the pink and yellow trails are a lot of fun! The hardest hike I’ve done is white to pink to grey/white to yellow/red to yellow/gray up to blue and back around to the summit. It was about 8 miles total but you get some nice elevation gain/loss on it.
Case Mountain is a very popular hike for families so if you’re bringing your pup here, make sure they get along with children and other dogs. It’s also a popular spot for mountain biking and runners so know your pups comfort level when they go zooming passed you! Case Mountian overall is an easy hike for dogs of all skill levels. I would definitely recommend this hike to all dogs.
