The Pine Knob Loop Trail is located in Housatonic Meadows State Park and Housatonic State Forest on the west side of the Housatonic River, north of Cornwall Bridge. Pine Knob Loop trail is about a 3-mile loop located along the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut. It’s a moderate hike that has some strenuous sections that lead to nice views facing southeast and you get a classic rolling hill river valley scene looking over the Housatonic River.
We did this hike in about an hour and Java had no trouble with any of the sections. Sections do get a little steep but it’s well worth the hike for the nice views at the summit. This is a pretty isolated hike and would I would recommend for hikers looking for a bit of a challenge that ends with a nice rewarding view.
