As part of The Bonds – a trio of peaks consisting of West Bond, Mount Bond, and Bondcliff – this hike promises an unforgettable experience filled with stunning views and rewarding challenges.

Hiking across all three Bond summits exposes you to a predominantly above-treeline landscape, providing unobstructed panoramas of the Pemigewasset Wilderness and the surrounding mountain ranges. However, this exposed terrain requires caution, as bad weather can roll in unexpectedly.

To reach West Bond, there are a couple of trail options. You can take the Wilderness Trail, which leads directly to West Bond and covers approximately 22 miles round-trip. Alternatively, you can opt for the Zealand Trail, which connects to Twinway and then to The Bonds, totaling around 20 miles.

The Bonds are a dog-friendly destination, and our canine companion, Java, had no issues navigating the trails or the summits. However, some hikers mentioned they chose not to bring their dogs due to the rocky terrain, which might be tough on sensitive paws.

For those considering an overnight hike, the Guyot Campsite is conveniently situated among The Bonds, making it an excellent base for exploring these peaks with your furry friend. Like all campsites, Guyot requires that dogs remain well-behaved and under the control of their owners.
